▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - Adsorbent system comprises non-uniformly perforated plate arranged in a cylindrical configuration comprising an upstream end and a downstream end and further defining an interior face and an exterior face. The interior face enclosing a hollow interior plenum. The non-uniformly perforated plate provides greater porosity at the upstream end of the plate as compared with the downstream end of the plate. A layer of a mesh sorbent structure has a sorbent supported on it, and a layer of the mesh sorbent structure being arranged circumferentially around the exterior face of the perforated plate. A heating cable arranged circumferentially around and in thermal communication with the layer of mesh sorbent structure, and the heating cable further being arranged in spaced-apart segments sufficient to provide a flow passage for the fluid flowstream. USE - Adsorbent system used for removing target compound from fluid flowstream (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The system is simply constructed and cost-effective, while offering rapid start-up and shut-down with acceptable temperature control, beneficially across narrow temperature ranges, and has improved overall adsorption efficiency, provided more uniform loading of adsorbed target compound (sorbate) on the sorbent, and acceptably sufficient thermal conductivity of the sorbent structure. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for regenerably removing a target compound from a fluid flowstream, which involves: (a) providing an adsorbent system; (b) initiating a fluid flowstream comprising a target compound into the adsorbent system, contacting the fluid flowstream with the sorbent under process conditions sufficient to remove the target compound from the flowstream; (c) stopping the fluid flowstream when the sorbent is saturated or substantially saturated with the target compound; (d) engaging the heating cable to heat the mesh sorbent structure and sorbent to release the target compound and regenerate the sorbent; and (e) repeating iteratively above steps.
