NOVELTY - A probe comprising probe A combined with a graphene quantum dot and a probe B bound with a gold nanoparticle, is new. The probe A has a 33 base pair sequence (SEQ ID NO: 1) fully defined in the specification and probe B comprises SEQ ID NO: 2. USE - The probe is useful for detecting the lead ion concentration (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The probe is prepared by a simple process. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A detection probe comprising probe A combined with a graphene quantum dot and a probe B bound with a gold nanoparticle, is new. The probe A has a 33 base pair sequence (SEQ ID NO: 1) fully defined in the specification and probe B comprises SEQ ID NO: 2. cgataactcactata/gaggaagagatg (SEQ ID NO: 2). INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) method of preparing a detection probe involves (a) mixing the gold nanoparticle with the probe B having a thiol group, adding sodium chloride and sodium hydrogen phosphate and centrifuging the contents for removing the supernatant and (b) mixing the graphene quantum dots with the probe A having an amino group, adding the 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC) solution, mixing the contents and leaving the mixed probe; and (2) method for detecting the lead ion concentration involves placing the probe A and probe B under the excitation light having a wavelength of 370-420 nm, preferably 380-410 nm and adding lead ions for performing spectral signal detection.
