NOVELTY - Cathode material comprises 60 pts. wt. of graphene oxide, 30 pts. wt. of manganese, 18 pts. wt. of 45% lithium nitrate, 1 pts. wt. of graphite flakes and 1 pts. wt. of adhesive material. USE - Cathode material for lithium battery. ADVANTAGE - The cathode material helps to overcomes self-discharging of lithium-ion battery which extends the storage time of the lithium battery. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing cathode material which involves: (A) mixing graphite and sodium nitrate in weight ratio of 2:1, reaction vessel taken in ice bath; (B) adding potassium permanganate and the graphite mass; (C) warming to 32-38 degrees C for 2 hours; (D) adding dropwise deionized water with stirring; (E) quenching reaction by adding hydrogen peroxide; (F) drying and washing to obtain graphene oxide; (G) dispersing carbon nanoparticles in ethanediol; (H) dispersing graphene oxide in water and acetone; (I) mixing of graphene oxide and carbon nanoparticles followed by adding adhesive material; (J) adding ammonium sulfate under inert atmosphere; (K) stirring for 24 hours; (L) separating product; (M) washing; and (N) drying at 60 degrees C to obtain desired cathode material.
