NOVELTY - Preparing hydrogen by hydrolyzing based on magnesium-based composite material comprises (i) weighing mixed material composed of magnesium, catalyst and grinding aid, (ii) performing mechanical ball milling to obtain magnesium-nickel-iron (Ni3Fe)/reduced graphene oxide composite solid powder, where the mass ratio of the magnesium and the composite solid powder is 85-98.8%, the catalyst is reduced graphene oxide supported Ni3Fe, the mass ratio of the composite solid powder is 0.2-10%, the grinding aid is a carbon material, and the mass ratio of the composite solid powder is 1-5%, and (iii) mixing the composite solid powder with an aqueous solution of neutral salt to carry out a hydrolysis reaction to generate hydrogen. The ball milling is performed under an inert atmosphere, including an argon atmosphere. The neutral salt aqueous solution includes sodium chloride solution, potassium chloride solution, and potassium sulfate solution. USE - The method is useful for preparing hydrogen by hydrolyzing based on magnesium-based composite material, which is useful in hydrogen fuel cell and other hydrogen occasions, which can be applied to multiple power and emergency scenes, e.g. unmanned aerial vehicle, automobile, emergency lamp, field operation and communication base station. ADVANTAGE - The method has short reaction time, high hydrogen production amount, fast hydrogen production rate, high efficiency and simple, without complex device and process, low cost and environment-friendly safety. The prepared high-purity hydrogen without other processing can be directly introduced hydrogen fuel cell and other hydrogen consumption device, can be quickly prepared according to the requirement at any time, that is to use, reduces the hydrogen storage process in the presence of many problems.
