NOVELTY - The corrosion protection unit has a modular anode unit (MAU) that includes a low carbon alkali-activated geo-polymer cementitious materials (AACM) mortar structure with conductive properties. The MAU is molded and comprises carbon components mixed within its structure. The carbon components comprise carbon fibres, graphene and nano-tubes. The modular nature of the MAU is provided by plug-and-play type connections providing a power input into the structure and a power output from the structure. The connections are within the structure and are inter-linked by a core which provides a current feed extending within the structure. The current feed comprises an anode feed in the form of a conductive core. The anode feed is a titanium tube wrapped with a coil of mixed metal oxide titanium wire or a co-extruded platinum/niobium/copper wire. USE - Corrosion protection unit for electrolytic protection of reinforced structural structure. ADVANTAGE - The corrosion protection unit comprises a modular anode unit that has a low carbon alkali-activated geo-polymer cementitious materials mortar structure with conductive properties, thus enables to prevent corrosion of a steel or iron reinforcement framework embedded in a concrete structure.
