NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene ruthenium-loaded catalyst comprises mixing polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and ruthenium trichloride, dissolving in distilled water, adding with sodium hydroxide, adjusting pH, adding into high-pressure kettle, heating, stirring, collecting solid, and washing with distilled water to adjust pH; dispersing graphene in aqueous solution and ultrasonically agitating; and mixing first step product and second step product, stirring, absorbing, centrifuging, and vacuum drying. USE - Method for preparing graphene ruthenium-loaded catalyst used for hydrogenation of benzene to produce cyclohexane (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is suitable for industrial production and has low catalytic hydrogenation temperature. The catalyst has excellent reusability and thermal stability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of graphene ruthenium-loaded catalyst comprises mixing polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and ruthenium trichloride at weight ratio of 1-10:1, dissolving in distilled water, adding with sodium hydroxide, adjusting pH to 5-8, adding into high-pressure kettle, heating to 100-200 degrees C, stirring at 400-1400 revolutions/minute (rpm) for 1-20 hours, collecting solid, and washing with distilled water to adjust pH at 7; dispersing graphene in aqueous solution and ultrasonically agitating; and mixing first step product and second step product at weight ratio of 1-50:1, stirring at 200-600 rpm, absorbing at 60-100 degrees C for 1-10 hours, centrifuging, and vacuum drying at 50 degrees C. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for application of catalyst comprising adding catalyst to benzene at ratio of 0.2-5.1 g:140 mL, and catalyzing at 100-150 degrees C.
