NOVELTY - An additive comprises functional graphene oxide, modified boron nitride and montmorillonite in a mass ratio of 4:1-16:2-32. USE - Additive used in lubricating oil such as Kunlun Tianhao F5000 lubricating oil, SF15W-40 lubricating oil and Great Wall SJ10W-40 lubricating oil, mineral base oil, and synthetic base oil (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The additive provides lubricating oil with excellent antifriction and antiwear properties even when added in small amounts. The lubricating oil containing the additive forms a self-healing film on the surface of the friction pair during friction and wear, which effectively enhances the hardness of the friction pair surface, effectively improves the wear resistance of the wear surface, and improves the service life of the wear components. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) preparation of additive, which involves (1) preparing graphene oxide by the modified Hummers method, preparing a dispersion of graphene oxide, adding a silane coupling agent to react at 25-100 degrees C for 1-6 hours, separating and washing, obtaining functional graphene oxide, (2) adding a dispersion of boron nitride to the silane coupling agent, reacting at 25-100 degrees C for 1-8 hours, centrifuging and cleaning to obtain modified boron nitride, (3) mixing modified boron nitride, montmorillonite and functional graphene oxide for 0.5-2 hours, heating at 100-180 degrees C for 1-5 hour, and washing; and (2) use of additive for lubricating oil, and the concentration of additive in the lubricating oil is 0.011-0.133 wt.%.
