NOVELTY - Improving the performance of layered electrode materials by adjusting the composition of the electrolyte involves testing the interlayer distance of any one kind of layered electrode material, marking as b, and selecting any one or more of the cation salts with the diameter a of the cations smaller than the interlayer spacing b, and adding them to the solvent with the molecular diameter c to prepare an electrolyte. The electrolyte is used as the working electrolyte of the layered electrode material when the diameter a of the cations in the electrolyte and the diameter (c) of the solvent molecules satisfy c not greater than b-a, and the specific capacity and cycle performance of the layered electrode material can be improved. USE - Method for improving the performance of layered electrode materials by adjusting the composition of the electrolyte. ADVANTAGE - The method enables adjusting diameter of the cation and the solvent molecule in the electrolyte so as to improve specific capacity and cycle performance of the layered electrode material with better universality.
