NOVELTY - A graphene/titanium dioxide compound light catalyst is prepared by dissolving graphite oxide in organic solvent, subjecting mixture to ultrasonic processing, adding a precursor of a titanium salt, stirring, adding deionized water, stirring, heating the mixture, adding absolute ethyl alcohol and deionized water, stirring, and drying. USE - Method of preparing graphene/titanium dioxide compound light catalyst for environment protection or solar cell. ADVANTAGE - The method utilizes easy to obtain raw materials, prepares product having good catalytic activity and optical property, and is simple, safe and low cost. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A graphene/titanium dioxide compound light catalyst is prepared by: (A) dissolving graphite oxide (5-60 g) in organic solvent (20-50 ml), and subjecting mixture to ultrasonic processing for 30-60 minutes to obtain dispersion solution; (B) adding a precursor of a titanium salt into the dispersion solution, stirring for 20-60 minutes, adding deionized water (0-1 ml), and stirring for 30-90 minutes; and (C) heating the mixture at 120-200 degrees C for 4-20 hours, adding absolute ethyl alcohol and deionized water, stirring, and drying at 40-80 degrees C for 8-24 hours. The organic solvent is absolute ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, ethylene glycol, and/or ethanol-acetic acid. The precursor of the titanium salt is titanium tetrachloride, tetrabutyl titanate, or titanium tetraisopropanolate. The ratio of graphite oxide and precursor of the titanium salt is 1:10-500
