NOVELTY - A graphene oriented mesoporous nanosheet material comprises cobalt-vanadium oxide single crystal having particle size of 20-50 nm where the material has particle size of 10-30 mu m. USE - Graphene oriented mesoporous nanosheet material for use as lithium ion battery cathode active material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The material has large surface area, improved ionic/electronic conductivity, high power, improved electrochemical properties, can improve cycling stability of electrode materials, long-self-life, high purity and strong feasibility, and can be prepared with high yield, in easy manner. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A graphene oriented mesoporous nanosheet material comprises cobalt-vanadium oxide (Co2V2O7) single crystal having particle size of 20-50 nm where the material has particle size of 10-30 mu m. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for preparing a graphene oriented mesoporous nanosheet material, which involves preparing graphene by dissolving 2-6 ml graphene with concentration of 1 mg/ml in 40 ml distilled water and stirring by using Hummer method, dissolving a source of cobalt in resulting solution, uniformly stirring at 80 degrees C, dissolving stoichiometric ratio of vanadium source in 40 ml distilled water, dropwisely adding solution to give red-brown suspension, followed by sequential addition of ethylene glycol and ethylenediamine under stirring to give gray suspension, carrying out hydrothermal reaction to obtain a reddish brown solid, where the molar ratio of cobalt source:vanadium source: ethylene glycol:ethylenediamine is 1:1:25-35:20-30, centrifuging resulting red-brown solid, drying in an air atmosphere at 80 degrees C, calcining the resulting sample under air atmosphere to obtain red-brown mesoporous cobalt-vanadium-oxide nanosheet material.
