NOVELTY - The absorber has a nano-column layer located above a metal layer. The nano-column layer is provided with a periodic nano-column. The nano-column is provided with coaxial nano-circular rings for acting with the nano-column, generating Fabry-Perot resonance, and exciting gap surface plasmons. The metal layer and the nano-circular ring are made of titanium, chromium, nickel and palladium. The nano-column layer is made of silicon, titanium dioxide, zinc peroxide and copper oxide. A refractory dielectric is aluminum oxide, macroscopic carbon nanotube, silicon carbide and graphene. USE - Columnar broadband metamaterial absorber for keeping high light absorption in a certain bandwidth for various applications. Uses include but are not limited to photovoltaic detector, photoelectric detector, solar steam generation and mechanical resonance operation. ADVANTAGE - The absorber has an average absorption rate greater than 91% in a range of 0.2-7 microns, and can be prepared in a large area. Performance of the absorber shows robustness of an incident angle and change of a polarization angle.
