NOVELTY - The device (100) has a ribbon transport assembly for transporting the ribbon along the ribbon path (300) between the ribbon dispenser (204) and a media processing head such as thermal print head (200). A graphite applicator is disposed along the ribbon path and is configured to apply the combination of graphite and graphene to an active side of the ribbon via frictional engagement with the ribbon. A media transport assembly transports the media from the media supply (316) to the media processing head for transfer of a portion of the combination of the graphite and graphene from the active side of the ribbon onto the media via application of the heat and pressure at the media processing head. A cartridge is included with a housing (104) supporting the spindle, a ribbon take-up spindle, and the applicator (320). USE - Media processing device such as a thermal transfer printer. ADVANTAGE - The conductive element can be manufactured in a cost-effective and time-saving manner, and can be deployed in efficient manner.
