NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene oxide or graphene oxide quantum dot involves adding graphite powder and potassium permanganate into a reactor, adding concentrated sulfuric acid, mixing, adding concentrated nitric acid, mixing uniformly, transferring the resultant suspension into polytetrafluoroethylene-lined reactor, performing solvothermal reaction, obtaining pale yellow transparent solution, dispersing the resultant solution in deionized water, performing dialysis process to neutral and freeze drying. USE - Preparation of graphene oxide or graphene oxide quantum dot used in photoelectric device, fluorescence labeling of biomolecule and anti-counterfeiting and bioimaging applications. ADVANTAGE - The method provides graphene oxide or graphene oxide quantum dot by simple and economical process in a short period of time without environmental pollution.
