NOVELTY - Composition comprises a suspension of at least one of a graphite material or a graphene material in a non-aqueous liquid. USE - The composition is useful for preparing a reduced graphene oxide material which is useful in an ultracapacitor (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composition provides reduced graphene oxide having improved specific capacitance, using a scalable and potentially green process. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) a method for preparing a reduced graphene oxide material, comprising exfoliating at least one of a graphite material or a graphene material in a non-aqueous solvent to provide a suspension; (2) a reduced graphene oxide material produced by the method; (3) an ultracapacitor comprising a reduced graphene oxide; and (4) a graphene oxide platelet having a thickness of less than 0.7 nm.
