NOVELTY - Polymeric foam coating process involves (A) solubilizing 1-10 %mass an allotropic form of carbon in an organic solvent of the foam, (B) immersing the polymeric foam in the solution obtained in (A), under stirring for a period of 20-45 minutes and with a stirring speed of 500-1500 rpm. USE - Coating polymeric foam for producing coated polymeric foam for sorption of hydrophobic substances (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method promotes the production of sorbents with high sorption capacity, low production cost, possibility of large-scale production, long storage time without system deterioration, high selectivity and reusability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: coated polymeric foam production process, which involves (a) Synthesis of polymeric foam, (b) coating the foam; polymeric foam, which comprises 1-10 %mass coating of an allotropic form of carbon; and orption of hydrophobic substances, which involves (a) immersing a polymeric foam, in an aqueous solution contaminated by one or more hydrophobic phases.
