NOVELTY - A silicon-carbon composite material comprises porous precursor and organic solvent at mass ratio of 1-10:90-110. The porous precursor comprises 1-55 pts. wt. aluminum salt, 1-5 pts. wt. silicon salt, 0.5-500 pts. wt. graphene oxide solution, 0.1-1 pt. wt. complexing agent, 0.1-1 pt. wt. organic alkali and 1-5 pts. wt. tin salt or nickel salt. The porous precursor involves vacuum freeze drying step when preparing. USE - The silicon-carbon composite material is used as cathode in preparing lithium ion battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The material has excellent battery cycle performance, high capacity and long circulation, reduces expansion rate, improves battery cycle performance, and solves high expansion rate and easy to cause problem of low battery cycle life. The method is simple and easy. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of the silicon-carbon composite material comprising adding aluminum salt, silicon salt and tin salt or nickel salt to graphene oxide solution, uniformly dispersing, adding complexing agent and organic alkali to uniformly disperse, reacting at 150-300 degrees C for 1-6 hours, orderly filtering and vacuum freeze-drying to obtain porous precursor, uniformly dispersing organic solvent and porous precursor, spray drying in inert gas atmosphere at 600-900 degrees C, keeping temperature for 1-12 hours, and cooling.
