▎ 摘 要

NOVELTY - An asbestos free friction material composition having 0.5 %mass or less copper comprises an organic binder, inorganic filler, lubricant, hard abrasive having a Moh's hardness of more than 7, soft abrasive having a Moh's hardness of less than 7, and/or less than 22 vol.% carbon based materials and optionally, less than 7 vol.% at least one metal or a mixture of metals. The hard abrasives have a round-shape. The metal or a mixture of metals does not contain copper and/or its alloys excluding for impurities. USE - Asbestos free friction material composition used for producing brake pad (all claimed) and brake shoe for vehicle e.g. vehicle rear axle. ADVANTAGE - The friction material has a formulation that allow to decrease or eliminate the phenomena of both the stiction and creep groan by reducing the tendency of the friction block to stitch against a surface of a friction partner cooperating with it. It is free of asbestos and has excellent characteristics with respect to the phenomena known as Stiction and Creep Groan, that is where the occurrence of such phenomena is limited or absent. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for manufacture of brake pad having a reduced or nil tendency to both stiction and creep groan, which involves preparing the asbestos free friction material composition, molding the composition in a friction material block or layer applied on a metallic support and curing the friction material block or layer. The metal or mixture of metals is chosen iron, steel, stainless steel, tin, zinc, metal alloys (excluding copper alloys in powder or fiber form), steel fibers, and/or stainless steel fibers.
