NOVELTY - Preparing high quality water-soluble graphene comprises (i) mixing aromatic carboxylic acid and metal hydroxide in deionized water, taking graphite material as anode material, a platinum sheet as a cathode material, placing the two electrodes vertically and parallelly in the electrolyte, separating distance between the two electrodes, connecting the two electrodes to a direct current stabilized voltage power supply; (ii) turning on the power supply voltage, performing an electrolytic reaction to achieve the electrochemistry peeling of anode material to obtain primary water-soluble dispersion; (iii) removing the electrode from primary water-soluble dispersion to obtain dispersion, performing ultrasonic treatment in sequence, centrifugally washing to obtain a high solids graphene slurry; and (iv) ultrasonically mixing the high solid graphene slurry in water. USE - The method is useful for preparing high quality water-soluble graphene (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is simple, economical, non-polluting, highly efficient and the graphene has good electrical, thermal conductivity and mechanical properties.
