NOVELTY - Preparing a quaternary ammonium salt group-containing graphene oxide material involves grafting tertiary amine groups on the surface of graphene oxide. The graphene oxide is dissolved in a solvent and dispersed ultrasonically to obtain a graphene oxide suspension, and then a tertiary amination modifier is added to perform a tertiary amination modification reaction. The solid-phase reactants are collected, washed by centrifugation, and dried to obtain tertiary amine group-supported graphene oxide. The obtained tertiary amine group-supported graphene oxide is dissolved in a solvent to obtain a tertiary amine group-supported graphene oxide suspension, and then a quaternization modifier is added to perform a quaternization modification reaction, collected the reactants, centrifugal cleaning and drying to obtain a quaternary ammonium salt group-containing graphene oxide material. USE - Method for preparing a quaternary ammonium salt group-containing graphene oxide material used as an adsorbent to remove pollutants from water bodies, as a bactericide in antibacterial and sterilization, and as a hydrophilic modifier in an organic polymer film material (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables to prepare quaternary ammonium salt group-containing graphene oxide material is able to retains the original nanostructure of the graphene oxide, has characteristics of good dispersion, large specific surface area, and good physical and chemical stability, and also has high hydrophilicity and strong antibacterial property. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing a quaternary ammonium salt group-containing graphene oxide material involves grafting tertiary amine groups on the surface of graphene oxide. The quaternizing modifier is one or more of chlorobutane, chloropentane, chlorohexane, chloroheptane, bromobutane, bromopentane, bromohexane, and bromoheptane.
