▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - A battery (10) comprises a housing (7), an electrolyte arranged in the housing, an anode (13) arranged in the housing, and an electrode arranged in the housing. The electrode comprises an electrode material (2) comprising manganese dioxide and a conductive carbon coated with a metallic layer. USE - Battery e.g. primary battery and secondary battery used as energy storage devices. Uses include but are not limited to electric vehicles, household appliances, grid-scale storage, traction batteries, aerospace applications, power packs, telecommunications, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and medical applications. ADVANTAGE - The battery has high energy density and high theoretical capacity as the cathode is unaffected by zinc, improved cycle characteristics and long term performance due to bimessite cathode material, and uses binder PTFE having excellent reliable properties, water retention capabilities, adhesion properties and conductivity. The cathode has full reversibility during galvanostatic cycle. The metallic layer helps in maintaining the potential in the cells leading to an energy dense cathode and battery, and also maintains enhanced properties of cathode even in the presence of dissolved zinc in the electrolyte. The purpose of zinc oxide in the anode is to provide a source of zinc during the recharging steps to get converted between zinc and zinc oxide during charging and discharging phases.
