NOVELTY - A pitch-type carbon short fiber filler has mean fiber length of 40-80 mu m when observed with optical microscope and graphene sheet closed in the filler end surface when observed with transmission electron microscope. The filler has flat surface when observed with scanning electron microscope. USE - Pitch-type carbon short fiber filler used in composition used for producing molded products including but not limited to heat radiation material for electronic components, electromagnetic wave shielding material, heat exchanger (all claimed), heat sink, semiconductor package components, heat spreader, die pad, printed wiring board, cooling fan component and heat pipe. ADVANTAGE - The filler has high thermal conductance and produces composition with high moldability. The molded products having high electromagnetic wave shielding property are manufactured economically and with improved productivity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for composition which contains the pitch-type carbon short fiber filler, thermoplastic resin and/or thermosetting resin. The composition contains 10-300 volume parts of the filler with respect to 100 volume parts of the resin.
