NOVELTY - Preparation method of graphene oxide-modified attapulgite composite adsorption material involves (a) uniformly dispersing attapulgite into deionized water, adjusting temperature of suspension to 30-80 degrees C, adding an organic ammonium salt and stirring, (b) uniformly dispersing graphene oxide solid into deionized water, and (c) slowly adding organic ammonium salt-modified attapulgite suspension to stable graphene oxide suspension, stirring, washing brown suspended substance with water, suction filtering, vacuum drying and crushing to obtain the composite adsorption material. USE - Method is useful for the preparation of graphene oxide-modified attapulgite composite adsorption material, which is useful for treatment of wastewater. ADVANTAGE - The method enables simple preparation of graphene oxide-modified attapulgite composite adsorption material with large specific surface area and high operability. The composite adsorption material effectively adsorbs dyes and heavy metals in wastewater. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation method of graphene oxide-modified attapulgite composite adsorption material involves (a) uniformly dispersing attapulgite into deionized water to obtain an attapulgite suspension, adjusting the temperature of the attapulgite suspension to 30-80 degrees C, adding an organic ammonium salt and carrying out stirring reaction for 3-6 hours to obtain an organic ammonium salt-modified attapulgite suspension, (b) uniformly dispersing graphene oxide solid into deionized water until no obvious visible particles are generated to obtain a stable graphene oxide suspension, and (c) slowly adding organic ammonium salt-modified attapulgite suspension to the stable graphene oxide suspension, continuously stirring reaction for 1-4 hours under an ultrasonic condition to obtain an uniform and stable brown suspended substance, washing the brown suspended substance with water, suction filtering to obtain a filter cake, vacuum drying the filter cake in a vacuum drying oven and crushing to obtain the graphene oxide-modified attapulgite composite adsorption material.
