NOVELTY - A coating composition comprises a layer (L1), and a layer (L2) arranged on top of the layer (L1). The layer (L1) comprises colloidal silica and a polymer (P1) comprising a monomer units (1)-(4). The layer (L2) comprises a carbon additive and a crosslinked polymer comprising a polymer (P2) and a polymer (P3). The polymer (P2) comprises monomer units (5)-(9). The polymer (P3) comprises monomer units (10)-(14). USE - Composition used for coating on substrate e.g. airbag cover (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composition has excellent coating efficiency and durability, and is prepared by simple method. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A coating composition comprises a layer (L1) and a layer (L2) arranged on top of the layer (L1). The layer (L1) comprises colloidal silica and a polymer (P1) comprising a monomer units of formulae (1)-(4). The layer (L2) comprises a carbon additive and a crosslinked polymer comprising a polymer (P2) and a polymer (P3). The polymer (P2) comprises monomer units of formulae (5)-(9). The polymer (P3) comprises monomer units of formulae (10)-(14). R_1,R_2 = alkyl;#R_3 = H, or oxygen-silicon covalent bond to at least a portion of the colloidal silica;#R_5-R_9 = alkyl;and#n = number of repeating unit. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) application of the coating composition to a substrate, which involves contacting the surface of the substrate with a composition (I) comprising colloidal silica and the polymer (P1), contacting the surface of the layer (L2) with a composition (II) comprising a carbon additive, a polymer precursor (a), polymer precursor (c) and a polymer precursor (b), forming a thin film arranged on top of the layer (L1), and subjecting the thin film to a condition for facilitating a cycloaddition reaction of the polymer precursor (b) and the polymer precursor (c) by forming the layer (L2) comprising the crosslinked polymer, and (2) a kit, which comprises a container comprising colloidal silica and the polymer (P1) comprising monomer units, and a composition (II) comprising the polymer (P2).
