▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - An aqueous drilling fluid composition comprises xanthan gum and an exfoliated two-dimensional (2D) material. USE - Aqueous drilling fluid composition used for decreasing fluid loss across wellbore, cooling, lubricating, and removing materials from the wellbore (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composition has excellent lubrication, tunable rheological properties, high chemical stability, high environmental compatibility, reduced fluid loss and reduced cost, and requires reduced amount of additive materials. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) manufacture of an aqueous drilling fluid, which involves intercalating bulk crystal of layered two dimensional material in water under reflux in the presence of sodium or lithium chloride salts, filtering the intercalated minerals, and exfoliating the intercalated minerals having concentration of 0.1-2 wt.% by stirring in water, and separating the exfoliated minerals by centrifuging and a liquid-liquid mixing of an aqueous solution containing the exfoliated minerals obtained and an aqueous solution containing xanthan gum. The final ratio of exfoliated two dimensional material and xanthan is 0.5-1; and (2) drilling process, which involves decreasing the fluid loss across the wellbore, cooling and lubricating the bit during drilling or removing materials from the wellbore during drilling using the aqueous drilling fluid composition.
