NOVELTY - Preparing a dispersant for polyurethane coatings, involves (a) adding deionized water to a reactor, adding an initiator, and stirring to obtain an initiator solution, (b) adding a part of acrylic monomer, a part of epoxy hexane and chain transfer agent to the initiator solution, heating at 55-60 degrees C, stirring at 500 rpm for 30-35 minutes, adding graphene, continuously stirring for 10-15 minutes, adding the remaining acrylic monomer and the remaining epoxy hexane, continuously stirring, reacting for 3-4 hours, and leaving still for 2 hours to obtain a reaction liquid, (c) adding a neutralizing agent to the obtained reaction solution, ultrasonically treating for 3-5 minutes, and neutralizing to a pH of 7-8 to obtain a dispersion liquid preparation, and (d) adding isodecyl alcohol and oleylamine to the prepared dispersion liquid under the protection of a nitrogen atmosphere, heating to 70-75 degrees C, heat preserving, stirring for 2 hours, and naturally cooling to room temperature. USE - The method is used for preparing a dispersant for polyurethane coatings. ADVANTAGE - The method provides dispersant that has stronger surface adsorption effect on pigments and fillers, significantly improves the wetting effect on pigments and fillers, shortens the grinding process, increases the output per unit time, has excellent anti-flocculation effect, and prevents the scattered particles from re-aggregating. The dispersant provides a three-dimensional barrier between filler particles with a non-polar part, and relies on the steric entropy effect to impart stability to the filler particles in the solvent system.
