NOVELTY - Preparing functional graphene- polyethylene composite film involves making functionalized graphene that is used as precursor. The graphene oxide is prepared by Hummers method. The graphene oxide is dispersed in de-ionized water. The obtained dispersed mixture is added with octadecyl amine. The obtained mixture is ultrasonically oscillated at normal temperature. The obtained mixture is peeled, and then dissolved to form 1.8-2.2 mg aqueous dispersion of graphene oxide. USE - Method for preparing functional graphene- polyethylene composite film (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables to prepare functional graphene- polyethylene composite film with improved toughness and impact resistance property. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing functional graphene- polyethylene composite film involves making functionalized graphene that is used as precursor. The graphene oxide is prepared by Hummers method. The graphene oxide is dispersed in de-ionized water. The obtained dispersed mixture is added with octadecyl amine. The obtained mixture is ultrasonically oscillated at normal temperature. The obtained mixture is peeled, and then dissolved to form 1.8-2.2 mg aqueous dispersion of graphene oxide. The obtained graphene oxide is added with ethanol with the concentration of 9.8-10.2mgasteriskml1. The obtained mixture is reacted with acid (N, Ndioctyl diethylenetriamine) generating laminated graphene oxide to obtain mixed solution. The obtained mixture is refluxed to obtain functionalized graphene oxide solution. The obtained functionalized graphene oxide solution is added with L type amino acid. The obtained mixture is reduced to form modified mixed solution/ The obtained mixed solution is added with mixed acid (N, Ndioctyl diethylenetriamine) powder. The obtained mixture is filtered, stirred, and then washed with ethyl alcohol. The obtained filtered product is dried in an oven. to obtain alkyl-functionalized graphene. The polyethylene grafted maleic anhydride polyethylene, maleic anhydride, dicumyl peroxide and dispersant are mixed in a mixer. The obtained mixture is poured in a automatic feeder hopper. The obtained mixture is conveyed to the reaction type extruder. The obtained mixture is added in a barrel. The obtained mixture is carried out with grafting reaction.The obtained mixture is homogenized, cooled, and then cut to form maleic anhydride graft modified polyethylene. The alkyl-functionalized graphene is dispersed in xylene or toluene. The obtained mixture is ultrasonically stirred at room temperature. The obtained mixture is heated, and then refluxed. The obtained mixture is reacted for 3-3.5 hours. The obtained mixture is filtered. The filtrate is dried in an oven. The parent material and the polyethylene particle are added in a hopper. The obtained mixture is blended. The weight percentage of alkyl-functionalized graphene is 0.2-1 wt.%.
