NOVELTY - A silicon nitride based ceramic tool material comprises 0.5-5 wt.% graphene, 0.5-5 wt.% magnesium oxide, 0.5-7 wt.% yttrium oxide, 0.5-5 wt.% aluminum oxide, and balance amount of silicon nitride. The average particle size of silicon nitride is 0.05-1 mu m. The average thickness of graphene is 0.2-34 nm. The average length of graphene is 1-10 mu m. USE - Silicon nitride based ceramic tool material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The ceramic tool material has improved mechanical properties, reduced friction coefficient, and improved self-lubricating performance.
