NOVELTY - Cathode material composition comprises lithium carbon material, conductive agent, and binder i.e. alkene polymer material (I) and (II) having molecular weight of 104-106. USE - The cathode material composition is useful in slurry for preparing lithium carbon material cathode for lithium ion battery (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composition: contains binder with side chain polar group, and thus the binder forms hydrogen bonds with hydrogen on the active material and/or the current collector, which ensures enhanced binding and tighter contact between the coating and the current collector to decay the battery capacity slowly and increase the battery cycle life. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Cathode material composition comprises lithium carbon material, conductive agent and binder, where the binder is alkene polymer material of formulae (I) and (II) having molecular weight of 104-106.
