NOVELTY - Gel paste with hydrogen removing function comprises 70-90 pts. wt. polyolefin base oil, 5-12 pts. wt. oil-inhibiting agent, 8 pts. wt. thickening agent, 5 pts. wt. antioxidant, 10-30 pts. wt. hydrogen absorbing agent and 1-8 pts. wt. hydrogen absorbing catalyst. The structural formula of the hydrogen absorbing agent contains carbon-carbon double bond. The hydrogen absorbing catalyst comprises an inorganic catalyst and a catalytic carrier having a D90 particle size of not greater than300 nm. USE - Used as gel paste with hydrogen removing function. ADVANTAGE - The paste realizes high hydrogen absorption value and waterproof multifunctional, reaction does not generate water, displaying the long-term efficient hydrogen absorbing function and non-reversibility. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) a method for preparing the gel paste, comprising (i) adding hydrogen absorbing agent into the polyolefin base oil, after mixing uniformly, stirring and adding thickening agent, oil inhibiting agent, antioxidant and pour point depressant and fully stirring to form uniform colloid; and (ii) adding hydrogen absorbing catalyst into the colloid prepared in step (i), fully mixing uniformly and vacuum processing to form uniform non-bubble homogeneous gel paste. (2) an optical cable containing paste, comprising a metal sleeve cable core and an armored sheath and gel paste with hydrogen removing function. The gel paste is filled in the optical fiber unit of the metal sleeve.
