NOVELTY - Preparing graphene quantum dots from algae plant involves immersing an algae plant in water, placing algae plant in oven, and drying and grinding algae plant into a powder form. The concentrated sulfuric acid is added to obtain solution. The solution is sealed and agitated to obtain precursor solution. The obtained precursor solution is transferred to a reaction kettle. The powder of the algae plant is dissolved in water. The reaction product is filtered through dialysis membrane and dialyzed to obtain graphene quantum dots. USE - Method for preparing graphene quantum dots from algae plant used for preparing quantum dot sensitized solar cells (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables to prepare graphene quantum dots from algae plant in simple, eco-friendly and cost-effective manner. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing quantum dot-sensitized solar cell, which involves: (A) preparing titania colloid; (B) coating titania colloid on the fluorine doped tin oxide conductive glass substrate; (C) calcining at high temperature to obtain mesoporous titanium dioxide film; (D) preparing photoanode and platinum counter electrode; (E) immersing photoanode in prepared graphene quantum dots; and (F) assembling photoanode and platinum counter electrode into quantum dot-sensitized solar cell.
