NOVELTY - Preparing detection material comprises synthesizing detection material by the complex action of reduced graphene oxide and fluorescein. USE - The detection material is useful for detecting arsenic in water (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The detection method has high detection selectivity and low detection limit for arsenic, can be added to many environmental samples, and directly detects the fluorescent signal. The preparation method of the detection material is simple in process. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for used method of the detection material, comprising adding detection material to the water sample to selectively adsorb arsenite, where the initial concentration of arsenite is in the range of 0-10 mg/l, where a linear relationship between the initial concentration of logAs(III) and the fluorescence intensity is present, and quantitatively determining concentration of arsenic in water by recording the fluorescence intensity.
