NOVELTY - Catalyst for producing ethylene carbonate, comprises 55-70 wt.% nanometer metal oxide, 15-25 wt.% graphene oxide, 10-15 wt.% ionic liquid, and 1-10 wt.% anionic polymer. The catalyst uses nanometer metal oxide and graphene oxide as carriers which is loaded with active components includes ionic liquid and anionic polymer. USE - The catalyst is useful for producing ethylene carbonate (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The catalyst: has good dispersibility and high catalytic activity; can improve the reaction stability and the conversion rate of ethylene oxide; and improves the yield of ethylene carbonate. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: preparing catalyst for producing ethylene carbonate, comprising (i) taking metal salt solutions and/or urea, adding water and mixing, stirring and heating to reflux, precipitating to room temperature, washing with suction filtration to obtain filter cake, drying and roasting to obtain nano metal oxide, (ii) taking the mixed solution of oxalic acid, sodium carbonate and ammonia water and adjusting the pH to 7-10 to obtain solution A, (iii) mixing the ionic liquid and anionic polymer, adding buffer solution, and after mixing evenly, adding graphene oxide and stirring to obtain solution B, and (iv) and adding solution B, nano metal oxide and silane coupling agent to solution A under stirring conditions, aging the mixed solution after the reaction is completed, filtering at room temperature, washing the obtained precipitate, drying and roasting to obtain final product; preparing ethylene carbonate, comprising reacting ethylene oxide and carbon dioxide under the conditions of catalyst to obtain ethylene carbonate, the addition amount of catalyst is 0.1-3 % of the amount of ethylene oxide, the reaction temperature is 70-140℃, and the carbon dioxide pressure is 0.5-5 MPa.
