NOVELTY - The component has a body portion (110) including a dielectric layer (111) and internal electrodes (121), and an external electrode (131) placed on the body and connected to the internal electrodes. A conductive carbon layer is coated with graphene. The external electrode comprises a conductor layer placed on a body, and is connected to an internal electrode. A metal layer covers the carbon layer, where the metal layer includes a nickel layer and a tin layer. The carbon layer has thickness of 100-500 nanometers. The metal layer is thinner than each of the conductor layer and the copper layer. The conductor layer includes a copper (Cu) layer, and metal layer includes nickel (Ni) layer and tin (Sn) layer. USE - Ceramic electronic component e.g. multi-layered ceramic capacitor (MLCC). ADVANTAGE - The ceramic electronic component has enhanced moisture resistance. The increased moisture transmittance due to the thinned external electrode thickness is reduced.
