NOVELTY - Preparing graphene oxide by electrochemical process comprises (1) using graphite-containing flexible/non-flexible processing materials as raw materials, directly electrochemically processing in pure water to obtain a suspension containing graphite oxide and (2) applying physical or mechanical action to the graphite oxide suspension under the electrochemical treatment system to exfoliate the graphite oxide without post-treatment, and uniformly dispersing a solution product containing micro-nano-sized graphene oxide in water is obtained. USE - The method is useful for preparing graphene oxide by electrochemical process. ADVANTAGE - The method: does not require post-processing e.g. washing; reduces energy consumption. The graphene oxide: does not contain any impurities e.g. metal ions; is controllable graphene oxidation degree; has safe process; and has no pollution.
