NOVELTY - Preparing graphene oxide grafted carbon fiber involves placing carbon fiber in plasma device and the plasma is sprayed on the surface of the carbon fiber in an open environment. The carbon fibers are moved in the plasma atmosphere with the processing power of 100-1000 watts for 10-900 seconds. The treated carbon fibers are dried in vacuum at 40-60 degrees C to obtain the plasma-treated carbon fiber which is placed in 0.02-1 g/litre graphene oxide-acetone grafting liquid. The mixture is heated to 50-100 degrees C, for 9-12 hours. USE - Method for preparing graphene oxide grafted carbon fiber (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables to prepare graphene oxide grafted carbon fiber in simple, cost effective, time effective and ecofriendly manner which is suitable for industrial production. The product is reliable and has enhanced quality. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing graphene oxide grafted carbon fiber involves placing carbon fiber in plasma device and the plasma is sprayed on the surface of the carbon fiber in an open environment. The carbon fibers are moved in the plasma atmosphere with the processing power of 100-1000 watts for 10-900 seconds. The treated carbon fibers are dried in vacuum at 40-60 degrees C to obtain the plasma-treated carbon fiber which is placed in 0.02-1 g/litre graphene oxide-acetone grafting liquid. The mixture is heated to 50-100 degrees C, for 9-12 hours. The grafted carbon fiber is washed repeatedly with deionized water and then dried at 40-60 degrees C in vacuum. The oxidized graphene acetone grafting liquid is added to the graphene in acetone solution, sonicated for 10-50 minutes to obtain modified surface of carbon fiber plasma-grafted graphene oxide.
