NOVELTY - A graphene-reinforced silicon-carbon composite material comprises silicon substrate, intermediate carbon layer on the silicon substrate and graphene layer provided outside of the intermediate carbon layer. USE - Graphene-reinforced silicon-carbon composite material for use as cathode material of lithium ion battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composite material has high specific volume, improved circulating stability of the lithium ion battery and improved rate performance and capacity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for preparing a graphene-reinforced silicon-carbon composite material.
