NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene-coated nanodiamond lubricant involves placing a catalyst-coated metal substrate in an ethanol flame for 10-20 minutes, removing the substrate, obtaining solid carbon nanofibers, scraping the nanofibers from the substrate, placing the scraped carbon nanofibers into a plasma sintering furnace, maintaining the pressure to 1 atm, heating the furnace to 1500-2500 degrees C, adjusting the discharge current to 100-1000 A and discharge voltage to 5-20 V, processing for 5-20 minutes and discharging the resultant product. The catalyst is salt solution of iron, cobalt and/or nickel. USE - Preparation of graphene-coated nanodiamond lubricant (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method efficiently provides graphene-coated nanodiamond lubricant with high quality and controllability, by simple and economical process under low-temperature and low-pressure condition.
