NOVELTY - Silicon oxide/phosphide carbide composite, is claimed. The silicon oxide/phosphide carbide composite is having a chemical formula (I), where the molar ratio of SiOx and MyP is 1-3:1, the mass ratio of carbon source to SiOx and MyP is 8:1:10-14, and the composite is a fibrous tubular structure. USE - The silicon oxide/phosphide carbide composite is useful in the preparation of a cathode material for a secondary battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The silicon oxide/phosphide carbide composite has high first-time Coulombic efficiency, high specific capacity, long life and good conductivity, and fibrous tubular structure, which reserves space for the volume change of silicon oxide during electrochemical cycling, and ensures the stability of the cathode structure. The method is beneficial to the construction and mass production of silicon oxide/phosphide carbide composites. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for preparing a silicon oxide/phosphide carbide composite.
