NOVELTY - A roofing system comprises a substrate; and an adhesive formulation which is present on at least one surface of the substrate, and comprises 10-70 wt.% filler and/or at least one tackifier, 20-70 wt.% of at least one process oil, 0.1-50 wt.% at least one fire retardant, and 0.5-30 wt.% at least one polymer, based on the total weight of the adhesive formulation; where the adhesive formulation is free of asphalt or substantially free of asphalt. USE - A roofing system. ADVANTAGE - The adhesive formulation of roofing system has higher shear strength and higher peel strength. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for making a roofing system which involves combining a filler with at least one process oil and at least one polymer, to form an adhesive formulation, where the adhesive formulation comprises 10-70 wt.% filler, 20-70 wt.% at least one process oil, and 0.5-30 wt.% at least one polymer, based on the total weight of the adhesive formulation, where the adhesive formulation is free of asphalt or substantially free of asphalt; or providing a roofing substrate, obtaining adhesive formulation and applying the adhesive formulation to at least one surface of the roofing substrate.
