▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Aerogel comprises a water-soluble organic polymer, cellulose nanofibrils and/or nanocrystals, and water-soluble graphene oxide or carbon nanotubes, where the water-soluble polymer, and optionally the cellulose nanofibrils and/or nanocrystals, is cross-linked such that it is no longer water-soluble. USE - The aerogel is useful in insulation composition, where the insulation is thermal insulation, acoustic insulation or electrical insulation (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The aerogel exhibits: a specific compressive strength of 0.001-0.1 MPa/kg m3; a density of not greater than 100 kg/m3; a strain-at-failure of at least 60%; a porosity of at least 90%; a compressive modulus of 50-500 kPa; a thermal conductivity of 10-60 mW/m/K; and a surface area of 50-500 m2g-1 (claimed). DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for making the aerogel, comprising combining the water-soluble organic polymer, cellulose nanofibrils and/or nanocrystals, and the water-soluble graphene oxide or multiwalled carbon nanotube in water, cross-linking the water-soluble organic polymer, and optionally the cellulose nanofibrils and/or nanocrystals, such that it is no longer water-soluble, and removing the water from the resulting gel to form the aerogel.
