NOVELTY - Preparation of reduced graphene oxide/bismuth vanadate/carbon nitride composite material, involves adding bismuth(III) nitrate pentahydrate to nitric acid solution, adding sodium dodecyl sulfate aqueous solution to obtain solution (A), adding ammonium metavanadate to ammonia monohydrate solution, stirring, adding solution (A) to solution of ammonium metavanadate, adjusting pH, stirring to obtain homogeneous solution, adding with graphitic carbon nitride powder and reduced graphene oxide, ultrasonically dispersing, carrying out hydrothermal reaction, centrifugal washing and drying. USE - Preparation of reduced graphene oxide/bismuth vanadate/carbon nitride composite material used for photo-catalytically degrading tetracycline (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The reduced graphene oxide/bismuth vanadate/carbon nitride composite material is constructed with Z-type hetero-junction which improves the utilization of visible light, reduces the photo-electron recombination rate, and can be used for photo-degradation of antibiotic contaminants so as to improve environmental management. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of reduced graphene oxide/bismuth vanadate/carbon nitride composite material, involves (i) preparing graphitic carbon nitride powder, (ii) preparing reduced graphene oxide, (iii) adding bismuth(III) nitrate pentahydrate to nitric acid solution, then adding sodium dodecyl sulfate aqueous solution to obtain solution (A), weighing ammonium metavanadate, adding to ammonia monohydrate solution, stirring, adding solution (A) to the solution of ammonium metavanadate, adjusting the pH of the mixed solution to 5~8 with ammonia monohydrate and stirring to obtain homogeneous solution, weighing graphitic carbon nitride powder and reduced graphene oxide in a specific proportion, adding to the homogeneous solution, ultrasonically dispersing, transferring the resulting solution to a Teflon (RTM: PTFE)-lined hydrothermal reactor, carrying out hydrothermal reaction, centrifugal washing and drying.
