NOVELTY - The preparation method of core-shell type ferroferric oxide/graphene oxide composite nano catalyst involves (i) dissolving 2.025 g ferric chloride hexahydrate in 60 ml ethylene glycol solution, stirring for 30 minutes, adding sodium acetate, and polyethylene glycol-4000, magnetically stirring, transferring the solution to a hydrothermal reaction kettle, reacting, dissolving nano ferric oxide in ethylene glycol, adding aminopropyltrimethoxysilane, reflux heating, washing, and vacuum-drying to obtain aminated nano ferroferric oxide. USE - Preparation of core-shell type ferroferric oxide/graphene oxide composite nano catalyst used in degradation of rhodamine B-containing dye. ADVANTAGE - The method enables the preparation of core-shell type ferroferric oxide/graphene oxide composite nano catalyst having excellent adsorption performance, and recycling property, and high stability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The preparation method of core-shell type ferroferric oxide/graphene oxide composite nano catalyst involves (i) dissolving 2.025 g ferric chloride hexahydrate in 60 ml ethylene glycol solution, magnetically stirring for 30 minutes, adding 10.8 g sodium acetate, and 3.0 g polyethylene glycol-4000, magnetically stirring for 30-60 minutes, transferring the solution to a 100 ml hydrothermal reaction kettle, reacting at 200 degrees C for 8-10 hours, dissolving 1.0 g nano ferric oxide in 100 ml ethylene glycol for 30 minutes, adding 1.0 ml aminopropyltrimethoxysilane, reflux heating at 80 degrees C, washing the resulting solution with water, washing with ethanol, vacuum-drying to obtain aminated nano ferroferric oxide, (ii) mixing 2 g graphite, 120 ml concentrated sulfuric acid, and 30 ml concentrated nitric acid, mechanically stirring at 0 degrees C for 1-2 hours, adding 15 g potassium permanganate to mixed solution, stirring at room temperature for 96 hours, adding 500 ml distilled water, stirring at 50 degrees C, slowly adding 20-30 ml 30% hydrogen peroxide, filtering the mixture, washing with 1:10 hydrochloric acid for 2-4 times to obtain graphene oxide, (iii) dissolving aminated nano ferroferric oxide in isopropanol to obtain 1.0 g/l solution (a), dissolving graphene oxide in water, ultrasonically dispersing to obtain 0.5 g/l solution (b), mixing solution (a) and solution (b) in a ratio of 1:1-1.5, mechanically stirring, continuously stirring for 2-3 hours, washing the resulting solution with ethanol, washing with distilled water, and vacuum drying.
