▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - A composition comprises a poly(aryl ether ketone) (PAEK) having a carbon-based nanomaterial dispersed within, where composition contains at least about 1 wt.% carbon-based nanomaterial based on the total weight of the composition. USE - A composition for forming molded product, three-dimensionally-printed product, and blended polymer product (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - PEEK/CNT nanocomposites with high CNT loadings are prepared. The method utilizes reversible chemical modification of PEEK, in which a bulky substituent is incorporated into the PEEK structure to provide an amorphous PEEK precursor that is soluble in a variety of common organic solvents at room temperature. The PEEK/MWCNT nanocomposites exhibit greatly improved tensile properties and electrical conductivity. The advantageous mechanical and electrical properties of the compositions, as well as the advantageous mechanical and electrical properties of the products that include these compositions, are a result of effective dispersion of the carbon-based nanomaterials in the polymers. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for making the composition which involves (a) forming a homogeneous mixture of a poly(aryl ether ketone) ketimine derivative and a carbon-based nanomaterial; and (b) treating the mixture with an aqueous acid to hydrolyze at least a portion (at least about 70%) of the poly(aryl ether ketone) ketimine derivative to provide a poly(aryl ether ketone) composition having a carbon-based nanomaterial dispersed within. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) - The drawing shows a schematic diagram of the preparation of PEEK/MWCNT nanocomposites.
