NOVELTY - Manufacturing an electrode for a lithium-based battery by electrophoretic deposition, comprises: mixing particles with graphene oxide and a binder in a solution, where the particles comprise a material comprising silicon, silicon oxide, silicon alloys, tin, tin oxide, sulfur, lithium manganese oxide, lithium cobalt oxide, lithium nickel oxide, lithium nickel manganese oxide, and lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide; applying a potential between a current collector and a counter electrode immersed in the solution to deposit a coating of the particles; and drying the coated current collector. USE - The method is useful for manufacturing an electrode for a lithium-based battery by electrophoretic deposition (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method does not require the step of freeze drying and post-heat treatment, thus it is performed in simple and cost efficient manner. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Manufacturing an electrode for a lithium-based battery by electrophoretic deposition, comprises: mixing particles with graphene oxide and a binder in a solution, where the particles comprise a material comprising silicon, silicon oxide, silicon alloys, tin, tin oxide, sulfur, lithium manganese oxide, lithium cobalt oxide, lithium nickel oxide, lithium nickel manganese oxide, and lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide; applying a potential between a current collector and a counter electrode immersed in the solution to deposit a coating of the particles, at least partially reduced graphene oxide, and binder on the current collector; and drying the coated current collector.
