▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - A volatile organic compound sensor comprises a chemiresistor comprising a sensing material, a space adjacent to the sensing material and for providing volatile organic compound to the sensing material, and electronic unit in electrical communication with the chemiresistor to detect change in an electrical property of the sensing material upon exposure to the volatile organic compound. The sensing material comprises a plant extract comprising a plant sensory compound at a concentration of 1 ng/cm3to 100 μ g/cm3, in which each of the plant extract is electrically resistive, and the electrical resistance is provided to change in response to volatile organic compound in the space. USE - Volatile organic compound sensor used for extracting biomolecule from plant sample for food such as different flavor of smoothies, tracing conversion of milk to yogurt, and for disease diagnostic such as gastric cancer. Uses include but are not limited to quality testing in food and essence industry such as manuka honey testing, oil and fat quality testing, high value product such as wine and beverage, quality control of fragrance such as perfume and deodorant, monitoring gas and volatile compound in mines, caves, and in chemical warfare, breath testing device to identify volatile biomarker of diseases and disorder, and in treatment and disease progression monitoring. ADVANTAGE - The volatile organic compound sensor is reusable, and economically and environmentally friendly provides renewable chemiresistor from plant extract.
