NOVELTY - Synthesizing silver/graphene nanocomposites by using Cleistocalyx operculatus leaf extract as a reducing agent and silver/graphene nanocomposites produced from the method. USE - The method is useful for synthesizing silver/graphene nanocomposites. ADVANTAGE - The method provides silver/graphene nanocomposite which shows a uniform distribution of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) with diameters of 20-40 nm on the surface of the graphene nanosheet and covered by a protective coating from the polysaccharide fraction in carbon dioxide extraction, which significantly enhances the stability of AgNPs from oxidation. The silver/graphene nanocomposite synthesized by the green synthesis method shows high antibacterial properties against E. coli bacteria.
