NOVELTY - Preparation of metal-oxide-coated particles involves adding substrate material, metal salt and precipitation agent to on-aqueous solvent to obtain mixed solution, and reacting mixed solution so that precipitate formed by reaction of the precipitation agent and the metal salt in the mixed solution is uniformly deposited on the surface of the coating substrate material to form metal oxide coating layer with core-shell structure. USE - Preparation of metal-oxide-coated particles used as anode material for lithium battery (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The preparation method is simple, easy and carried out under mild reaction condition to form core-shell structure coated particles with uniform coating thickness of metal oxide. The core-shell structure coated particles have excellent high-temperature stability and cycle stability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for the metal-oxide-coated particles, which comprise metal oxide as shell layer with thickness of 1-200 nm coated on substrate material. The metal oxide is ferric oxide or zirconium dioxide. The core-shell structure coated particles are preferably iron trioxide coated silicon dioxide particles, iron trioxide coated tin dioxide, iron trioxide coated lithium nickel cobalt manganate, iron trioxide coated lithium nickel cobalt aluminate, iron trioxide coated lithium titanate, iron trioxide coated lithium nickel manganate, zirconium dioxide coated silicon dioxide and zirconium dioxide coated lithium nickel manganate.
