NOVELTY - Method for making an elastomeric conductive nanocomposite, involves (a) mixing an elastomer, and a polyether chosen from polymethylene oxide, polyethylene oxide, polypropylene oxide, graphene nanoparticles, and transition metal nanoparticles at 20-50degrees Celsius for 30 minutes to 4 hours to obtain a mixture, (b) aging the mixture for 24-168 hours to obtain an aged mixture, and (c) pressing the aged mixture at 100-180degrees Celsius to obtain an elastomeric conductive nanocomposite comprising a mixed polymer matrix of the elastomer and the polyether with the graphene nanoparticles and the transition metal nanoparticles dispersed, and having a nonlinear relationship between resistivity and temperature in the region of 25-180degrees Celsius characterized by an exponential increase reaching a peak resistivity followed by an exponential decrease, where the elastomeric conductive nanocomposite has a peak resistivity of 2500-18000 ohm.cm at 100-180degrees Celsius. USE - The method is useful for making an elastomeric conductive nanocomposite. ADVANTAGE - The conductive nanocomposite has nonlinear relationship between resistivity and temperature, and excellent electrical resistance.
