NOVELTY - Catalyst comprises 1-20 wt.% active metal component and rest is carrier. USE - Catalyst for preparing 2,5-furan dicarboxylic acid (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The catalyst is prepared in simple and eco-friendly manner, has high conversion rate and has good selectivity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for : (1) method for preparing catalyst, which involves, mixing catalyst carrier with soluble metal salt solution in reaction kettle at 150-220 degrees C for 5-15 hours, where mass ratio of deionized water to water and catalyst carrier is 30-90:1; (2) cooling naturally; washing with water and absolute ethyl alcohol three times; drying at 60-100 degrees C for 10-24 hours; placind dried product in tube furnace in presence of hydrogen/ argon atmosphere for 4-8 hours to obtain catalyst, where volume fraction of hydrogen is 5-10%, gas flow rate is 5-15 milliliter/minute and reduction temperature is 300-500 degrees C; and (3) a method for preparing 2,5-furan dicarboxylic acid; reacting 5-hydroxymethylfurfural with solvent in a mass ratio of 3-12:1; adding to obtain suspension; transferring obtained suspension to a sealed reactor with a quartz window; sealing reactor and purging with oxygen; filling oxygen, where molar ratio of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural to oxygen is 0.01-0.1:1; heating at 60-200 degrees C with stirring for 0.5-12 hours under a light intensity of 0.01-5 watt/squarecentimetre.
