NOVELTY - Lightweight polymer nanocomposite material with an isolation structure, comprises: a polymer matrix; hollow microspheres; and nanofillers, where groups loaded on surfaces of the nanofillers interact with groups loaded on surfaces of the hollow microspheres and are evenly distributed on the surfaces of the hollow microspheres to form hollow microsphere at nanofiller core-shell particles, and the hollow microsphere at nanofiller core-shell particles are uniformly distributed in the polymer matrix. USE - The material is useful: as a flame-retardant, electrically conductive, thermally conductive or electromagnetic shielding functional material (claimed); and in high-end technical fields e.g. aerospace, transportation, and electronic communications. ADVANTAGE - The material: utilizes polymer matrix, and hollow microspheres, which can reduce the density of the composite material while exerting a volume exclusion effect in the matrix to promote formation of a dense three-dimensional network with a lower content of nanofillers in the matrix, and realize preparation of the lightweight polymer nanocomposite material with an isolation structure; achieves high functionality with a low filler content; and prepared by a method which has simple process, high preparation efficiency, and applicability to most polymer matrices and traditional polymer processing techniques, and is suitable for industrialization. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing the lightweight polymer nanocomposite material with an isolation structure comprising (1) surface modification of the nanofillers, subjecting the nanofillers to surface modification by a physical or chemical method, introducing groups having a strong interaction with groups on the surfaces of hollow microspheres on the surfaces of the nanofillers, and then dispersing the nanofillers in water to obtain a nanofiller aqueous dispersion, (2) surface modification of the hollow microspheres, subjecting the hollow microspheres to surface modification by a physical or chemical method, introducing groups having a strong interaction with the groups on the surfaces of the nanofillers on the surfaces of the hollow microspheres, and dispersing the hollow microspheres in water to obtain a hollow microsphere aqueous dispersion, preparation of the hollow microsphere at nanofiller core-shell particles, according to a composition of a polymer nanocomposite material to be prepared, mixing, filtering or centrifuging, and drying a specified volume of hollow microsphere dispersion and a specified volume of nanofiller dispersion to obtain the hollow microsphere at nanofiller core-shell particles, and preparation of the lightweight nanocomposite material with an isolation structure, dispersing the hollow microsphere at nanofiller core-shell particles uniformly in a polymer matrix, and then processing and molding a resulting mixture to obtain the lightweight polymer nanocomposite material with an isolation structure.
